I will be participating in a panel discussion with some distinguished panelists as part of an online Siemens cybersecurity event on January 28th. This event takes place from 2-5 PM EDT and you can register here. The session begins with an introduction from Siemens Digital Industries President Raj Batra and a keynote from former White House Chief Information Officer Theresa Payton. Our panel discussion follows, which includes ADM CISO Thomas Dager, Constellation Brands CISO Bill Podborny, and Rob Dyson, Partner at IBM Global Security Services, and me. The session concludes with a presentation from Chuck Tommey, OT Cybersecurity Consultant at Siemens Digital Industries.
Our panel discussion will focus on cyber threats and risk at the manufacturing and OT level, but that doesn’t mean we won’t talk about IT level threats also. As we have seen so many times in the past, attacks initiated at the IT level can pose a direct threat to operations. The SolarWinds attack is one such example that we wrote about recently. We will talk about the impact of SolarWinds and a lot more in this panel discussion, from the severity of cyber threats to manufacturing to best practices, and the role of third parties like OEMs, machine builders, and systems integrators.
