When it comes to controller-to-controller communication or controller-to-cloud or IT platform communication, existing fieldbuses simply cannot handle the growing technology requirements imposed by digitalization. Protocols like OPC UA or DDS have emerged as the preferred solution. But what about communication to the sensor/actor level, or direct from sensors to the cloud? Can hard, real-time critical applications like multiaxis servodrive synchronization be realized with TSN? With the help of representatives from the major industry consortia, this workshop will attempt to clarify these issues.
